The main reason for the development of this project is the need to counteract the lifelessness and isolation and to encourage contact with others. The launch of this project offers a start, but the Portuguese population, who are ready to receive you and to accept you into their circle of friends through their warmth and hospitality, can reinforce this. You will notice that the (temporary) lack of language knowledge does not pose a problem to establishing contact at all. You can feel the warmth and hospitality. Soon, you will be invited to drink a “pinga” (wine). Or, someone may, for example, pay for your coffee in a café. Even though most people have a very low income. Affordable & Social living is an organic process for permanent residents of all nationalities.
